We’re not celebrating Black Friday, but we’re celebrating adventure all year round

To my dear community,

I wanted to take a moment, after a day of reflection, family, and feasting, to explain why First Peak isn’t participating in the seasonal blowout sales cycle on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

The main reason is that I strive to make high quality, sustainable products at a fair price point, all year round. Our products are no less valuable today than they were yesterday or will be tomorrow.

There’s also reality: as a small business making products locally, I need to make sure that our margins make sense. I’ve set our prices so that I can continue making these awesome clothes for many seasons to come.

And finally, there’s philosophy: In many ways, Black Friday is the brain child of “fast fashion” — the notion that cheap clothes are bought on a whim, worn once or twice, and tossed. I aim to make durable, environmentally conscious clothes that you can take the time to purchase thoughtfully, without the rush of a ticking clock or the pressure to spend big.

So this week, there’s no blowout sale to wait for. Instead, we’re here year-round, working to make amazing clothes to support the incredible family adventures we know you’ve been dreaming up.

Shop sustainable adventure wear for your little explorers today, or whenever you’re ready.

With love,
First Peak
